Description

Abano Pass is a scenic mountain pass located in the remote and rugged Tusheti region of Georgia. It is one of the main routes that connects Tusheti to the rest of the country. Situated at an elevation of approximately 2,850 meters (9,350 feet) above sea level, the pass offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes, with majestic mountains and deep valleys.

The journey through Abano Pass can be challenging and adventurous, with narrow and winding roads, steep inclines, and rugged terrain. Due to its high altitude and unpredictable weather conditions, the pass is usually open only during the summer months, typically from June to September.

Traveling through Abano Pass provides a unique opportunity to explore the pristine beauty of Tusheti's wilderness, including traditional villages, ancient towers, and the region's rich cultural heritage. It is a popular destination for hikers, nature enthusiasts, and adventure seekers looking to immerse themselves in the untouched beauty of Georgia's mountainous landscapes.
